AAFF Entries Close as October Black Film Gathering Approaches

The submission stage has ended for the 2026 Abibitumi Abibifahodie Film Festival. FilmFreeway now marks entries closed, while the festival moves toward its official October 16–18 dates.

The current festival description outlines online screenings spanning feature films, documentaries, shorts, student films, music videos, animation, and AI-related work, alongside an in-person Gala and Awards gathering in Accra. Together, those formats connect creators and audiences across Abibiman and the diaspora.

The theme, Kemet for the Kemetyu: At Home and Abroad, calls attention to repatriation and the responsibilities surrounding it. Films are expected to move beyond observation toward Revolution, Reclamation, Restoration, and Retribution.
